The rules for our Discord server and club spaces, in general.
Set your nickname to your real name or the handle you registered with the club. "xX_darkh4ck3r_Xx" is not your name. We know your name. Use it.
If your display name is unrecognizable and you have no visible club affiliation, you may be quietly removed from the server. No hard feelings. Probably.
Harassment, discrimination, hate speech, personal attacks — none of it. We are literally a club of nerds who hack CTFs together. There is no excuse to be awful.
Pretending to be another member, officer, or industry professional gets you a permanent ban immediately. Don't be a clown.
Don't post anything obscene, defamatory, or unlawful. You know what that means. If you have to ask, the answer is probably no.
Always. Not just when it's convenient.
Get explicit consent from everyone in the voice channel before you hit record, and update the channel status accordingly (Recording / Streaming). Don't merge people into a shared recording without everyone agreeing to it first.
No sharing of illegal tools, exploits, or malicious code outside of designated competition or challenge contexts. This is an educational space. Use your powers for good. Or at least for CTFs.
Keep solutions out of public channels. Use spoiler tags or dedicated threads. Some of us are still in the crying-at-the-terminal phase — respect the process.
Plagiarizing writeups without credit is not it. Sharing knowledge = good. Stealing credit = not good.
If your team is in an active competition, sharing flags or solutions is cheating. We don't care how funny the flag was.
All hacking must be legal and authorized — CTF platforms, your own systems, or systems you have explicit permission to test. Unauthorized access to real systems means an immediate ban and may be reported to relevant authorities. We are not kidding. We will not protect you.
We're grass touchers. This is our identity. If you haven't seen natural light in 48 hours, that's not a personality trait, that's a problem. Step outside. Breathe air. Report back.
Before rage-quitting a challenge at 4am — have you slept? Hydrated? Eaten? The answer is not in the energy drink. It's in REM sleep. Get back to sleep.
Nobody hatched from an egg already knowing binary exploitation. Drop your question in the right channel. Someone will help you. That's the whole point.
First solve? Post it. New personal best? Tell us. Finally understand TCP handshakes? We want to hear it. This server runs on shared wins and collective suffering. Both are welcome.
We love that you have a reaction image for everything. But keep the chaos contained. There are channels for chaos. Use them.
Violations are handled by the exec/admin team — from a gentle "hey, don't do that" to a permanent ban, depending on severity. When in doubt: don't be weird about it.
Questions, concerns, or complaints? Reach out — general club inquiries go to our email, and anything specific or private can go to an admin or exec directly.
